Wolf snake

Lycodon capucinus

Description:

The snake is dark brown to black in color, has a white band around its neck, and has white speckles all over the length of its body. The specimen is about 18 cm long.

Habitat:

Usually in forest floors but since it's widely distributed, it may also be found anywhere where there's enough vegetation where it can hunt for its usual prey.

Notes:

The snake was photographed on a tiled floor. It entered our house possibly to seek shelter from the noise of the firecrackers outside. The specimen was put in a glass bottle until all commotion outside has finished. It was then released on a vacant lot with overgrown vegetation.
