The lack of pale colour at the base of the wings may also be a developmental stage or ...well, I have to admit it is not the world's best photograph. So unless I am hopelessly off track...which, thanks to you I rather doubt, (the striations and colour all match) the GCG it is...THANKS and have a very happy new year.

Closest I can get is the Great Crimson Glider Urothemis signata female. Though it has pale color at the base of the wings.
