Description:

A medium size beetle with a striking and distinctive triangular marking on its pronotum. Its elytra are yellow-orange to brown and black. Size: 8-11 mm.

Habitat:

Spotted on wildflowers at Mount Magazine State Park.

Notes:

Ranges in the eastern U.S. From Bugguide: Adults take pollen and/or nectar. (Possibly eat vegetative parts as well?) Food plants include Goldenrod (Solidago), Feverfew (Parthenium), Coneflower (Echinacea), and Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccafolium).
