Nothoscordum bivalve
Liliaceae / Lily family. A perennial herb, grows from bulb. The non fragrant flowers have a characteristic brown/green mid vein on the underside of each petal/tepal. Flowers are from 1/2 to almost 1 inch in diameter with 6 stamens, yellow anthers and 6 tepals = 3 petals and 3 tepals. Resembles a wild onion. Same as: Texas False Garlic (Nothoscordum texanum)
Pastures, gardens, yards, lawns, meadows, woodlands and roadsides.
Blooms late winter (started this year in February, 2013) through early spring and often times again in the fall, but not as grand as in the spring.
