Indian stingless bee

Tetragonula iridipennis

Pollen collector... One of the smallest bees, Tetragonula iridipennis is a major pollinator in many crops as well as wild plants. The size of each bee is about 3mm. They are kept for their medicinal honey. They do not have stings and hence called stingless bees.

Spotted on an Amaranthus plant in my garden.
