Elaeis Guineensis
The palm oil tree has very many branches with spiky edges. They were high up in the tree. The spikes on the sides were alternated. The part of the tree that holds the oil is not showed in this picture because the tree hasn't grown them yet. Flowers bloom, then produce little black fruits. That is where we get the palm oil from.
We found this plant in the Singapore American School Forest. There was only one oil palm plant. The area was very shady with many plants surrounding it.
-palm oil= found in Oreos, crackers, shampoo, etc.
