Cynometra ramiflora

Description:

Cynometra ramiflora Linn. (Fabaceae), Oringen / Balitbitan (local names), is a tropical forest tree growing from 4-26 m tall. Leaves are alternate and smooth, leathery, about 10 cm long. It has a dense crown, its canopy covered with white-green when its young leaves emerge.

Habitat:

Seen at Station 1 of the Makiling Trail, Mount Makiling Forest Reserve in Los Baños, Laguna. It is a Philippine-native found in forests along streams at low and medium altitudes in Luzon provinces. It also occurs in India, Indo-China, Thailand through Malaysia to the Pacific.
