Description:

C. quadratus is a small snipe fly, approximately 6 mm, with very large eyes that occupy almost the entire head. Snipe flies, both adults and larvae, are beneficial predators feeding on a variety of small insects.

Habitat:

Southern Canada - U.S. Moist wooded areas on low vegetation.
