Crimson Tiger Moth

Ardices curvata

Description:

2cm bright yellow moth with tented wings at rest. Feathery antenna and a feather collar. Black spots

Notes:

This one wanted its photo taken. It landed in front of me while I was collecting at night and politely walked into the container I held for it. Later spotting here... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/156... Note later generic change to Spilosoma sp. CarolSnowMilne for the identification

What a gorgeous Tiger Moth. I put up an ID. WOW! I wish they were here in the USA. We have many lovely ones too. Great shots. I hope this is the correct ID. (Crimson Tiger Moth). If not, it is certainly related. LOL

What a lovely moth Stephen! Hope you get an ID. When it comes to taking photos, I believe moths are much better behaved than butterflies.
