Common Kingfisher

Alcedo atthis

Description:

Seen during a night boat tour in the sides of the river, sleeping in branches. I am not sure of the species. It could be a female or juvenile of the blue eared but I am inclined for the common kingfisher because its color was more greenish than that of the blue eared. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Habitat:

Kinabatangan Rivr, Sukau, Sabah.
