A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis
About 11 inches long with a long tan/tinted green stripe down the middle of its back. Has stripes running its length down its sides, too. Aside from the stripes, the rest of the snake is a light brown color.
Inhabit the East Coast from Ontario down to the Gulf of Mexico. Prefer woodland areas (like state parks), but will also live in small "islands" of forest in urban communities.
