Bluespotted ribbontail ray

Taeniura lymma

Description:

Oval pectoral fin disc, rounded angular snout, large protruding eyes, narrow and angular pelvic fins, smooth skin, dark green dorsal coloration with circular neon blue spots. The tail has two stripes of the same blue running along each side as far as the spines. The eyes are bright yellow and the belly is white.

Habitat:

Spotted at Sebayur Besar Island, coral reef area, Indonesia, this species is common throughout the tropical Indian and western Pacific Oceans in nearshore, coral reef-associated habitats.
