white necked Jacobin

Florisuga mellivora

Description:

Hummingbirds always fascinate me but this one in the first photo was quite comical to watch as he was very territorial with 'his' honey water feeder and even though only small would make sure that none of the other birds around came on it when he was there. photos one to three are male and photo four is female.

Habitat:

Seen at Asa Wright's nature centre in The mountainous rainforests of Trinidad, their range is from Mexico, south through Bolivia and down into central Brazil inc Trinidad and Tobago.
