Seems to be a fruited bush... no idea if poisonous or not.
Natal plums grow so well in San Diego and also in Florida. Careful the entire plant is poisonous, except the ripe fruit! Which is awesome. I make some great Natal plum jam every year! My friends mix it in with their ice cream too.
