Mionochroma ocreatum
beetles mating, iridescent green and black striped body, about 1"
Colombia Amazon, primary rainforest
One of my first spottings on my first hike in the Amazon. We were barely into the forest when I spotted these 2 on top of a leaf.
Thanks bayucca. I will go with you and Scott and ID it to the species, that looks like it and it's only 7 Euro!
I agree, its always safer to go with the genus, but this suggestion looks pretty good.

Please, Dan and Scott, verify! If you want to be on the safe side you just take Mionochroma sp, with adding the possibility of Mionochroma ocreatum.
Cerambycidae, Cerambycinae and Callichromatini. I think this is safe. And Mionochroma looks also quite fine. Species level is tricky, I think it might be Mionochroma ocreatum.

It is nearly identical Gerardo. Think it's the same? bayucca? Thanks all for the comments. I will add it to that mission Karen. I wasn't aware of it.
