Maybe Geastrum sp. I found them in a pine forest, close to a more conspicuous earthstar, see http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/157.... I suppose that the outer envelope has disappeared due to the age of the fungus, ???

Pine tree forest, Pinus silvestris

Yes strange there are no rays. Could they be buried below the pine needles?
