Description:

Beautiful mauve moth with red-pink underside and legs. There is a darker crescent spot on each wing. The thorax is fuzzy.

Habitat:

Outside window at night in the backyard in Oak Woodland. This species is found in the western US, Canada and Mexico.

Notes:

Larvae feed on spring growth of woody trees and shrubs
