Common Baron

Euthalia aconthea

Description:

extremely flat and camouflaged

Habitat:

urban

Notes:

I spotted this on a mango tree near my grandparents house. I was actually looking for a leaf to put another caterpillar onto when I stumbled across this or else I would have never seen it. I am good friends with dandoucette and he is helping me with my spottings.

That looks just like it bayucca. It's so cool how they always align themselves with the midvein of the leaf. I will update the ID.

Not sure about the ID, just an IDea. Has to be verified! It is definitely a Nymphalidae caterpillar not a moth and I am quite confident with Euthalia sp.

Absolutely amazing Linh! It's so hard to see in the second photo with it exactly in line with the midvein of the leaf.
