Trabala vishnou
This Lappet Moth Caterpillar was extremely colorful and unique! It measured about 6 cm long and 1.2 cm wide. The body was a brown color with a long white stripe along the middle. It also had blue dots that seemed to be following a pattern on its body. Its head was red and white colored and seemed roundish. This caterpillar has a small yellow mouth that is shaped like a jellybean. On each side of the head, there is a cluster of hair that is a reddish brown color. It has two blue colored eyes that look like buttons. Its body is very hairy and it has many orange legs.
This caterpillar was living on a cluster of shrubs in Jakarta, Indonesia. The climate there was cloudy, windy, and a bit sunny, since it was in the afternoon. It was resting on a leaf and would occasionally walk and move across it.
There were many other Lappet Moth Caterpillars in the shrubs. All of them seemed to rarely move around a lot. I think that these species are extremely unique, because of their beautiful markings and their striking features.
