Amazilia versicolor (Vieillot, 1818)
The white-banded hummingbird is an apodiform bird in the family Trochilidae. Measures 8.5 cm in length. When it is possible to observe the tail, it is noted that it is gray, with a dark sub-terminal band and a light tip. Other than that, the greenish tone of the plumage is clearer, with a bright green throat and bluish iridescent tones. The pure white of the belly continues through the chest without narrowing as much as in the green-throated hummingbird. The crissum is white stained with green. The beak is relatively smaller and darker. This species gathers several subspecies, whose plumes vary by the greater or lesser extent of the bright green of the forehead or by the presence or absence of white in the throat and in the center of the belly.
