Wandering Spider

Ctenus

Description:

A Wandering Spider of the Ctenus genus. Quite hairy a bit like a Tarantula. Black with a blueish tinge. Quite large - at least 12cm or so, probably more. Spotted at night in the Monteverde cloud forest, Costa Rica.

Looks closer to a huntsman or trap-door spider than a tarantula (Theraphosidae)
