Lycogala epidendrum

Description:

Plasmodial slime mould, with small soft fruiting bodies, distinctively rose in color, less than 1cm in diameter, somewhat perled on surface. Soft and yielding on touch, somewhat like balls full of oil.

Habitat:

Foothills of Jura massif; local town park. Wooded area of the park, growing on a decaying tree stump, carpophore protruding through a layer of mosses.
