Walnut Sphinx Moth

Amorpha juglandis

Description:

Edit: Thanks to a fellow projectnoah user’s suggestion and further reading, I believe this to be a Walnut Sphinx Moth. I have seen these beauties in our area often, but this one had an interesting purple color variation that I found just fascinating. It had an approximate wingspan of 2 inches.

Habitat:

Deciduous Forest

Notes:

I have seen these beauties in our area but I am not sure what they are. Sphinx moth of some variety? Thanks in advance for suggestions.
