Diminutive mouse lemur. Seen along a country road at night (we were taken out to where they were known to live) There are about 15 species (and I have no idea which one this is) ranging in weight from around 30g to 75g. These are the smallest and most abundant primate of Madagascar

Congratulations on the nominated for the SOTW Mel. Great shots. What a privilege to have seen this tiny guy/gal.
Sorry Mel11, I got it wrong. When you have a Family name only to go on, leave the scientific name field empty, and add the family under Description or Notes. Also search for other mouse lemurs here on PN to see if they help yu with this ID. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this with us - lovely little creature.
Thanks. I was very lucky to be in a position to see this little lemur and to be looking in the right direction!
Lovely series of an animal most of us will never see in person!
Fabulous little creature. I hope they're not suffering with the vegetation loss as much as others.
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
