Cerulean Warbler

Dendroica cerulea

Description:

A small bird of the deciduous forest treetops, the sky-blue Cerulean Warbler is hard to see. It nests and forages higher in the canopy than most other warblers.

Notes:

I had the honor of observing a total of four male Cerulean Warblers today. This is not only the highest count for Ceruleans in a single day for myself, but the earliest personal record for this rare and elusive species arriving back to the US.
