Blackheaded Jumping Spider

Family Salticidae, Trite planiceps

Description:

Small jumping spider, body length approx 6mm and at rest it had its fore legs outstretched another 6mm. Staccato movements. Large chelicerae for its size. Trite planiceps is a common jumping spider endemic to New Zealand and one of about 150 species of jumping spiders in New Zealand.

Habitat:

Came to visit us in our accommodation in the forest in Te Mata, New Zealand

I seen 1 of those on Monster wars on the Discovery Channel very interesting for a little guy I think he got eatin buy a bigger spider
