Cryptic Kelp Crab

Description:

Small inter-tidal crab characterized by white tips on claws, legs with light colored bands and a jagged carapace. The Cryptic Kelp Crab will decorate its rostrum with algae. They do this to camouflage themselves.

Habitat:

Spotted in a tide pool at Tongue Point Marine Sanctuary.
