The wingspan is 33–44 mm. Adults are on wing from March to September.

Habitat:

Spotted on my backyard fence. Attracted to light. Mixed woods nearby.

Notes:

Larvae feed on a variety of deciduous trees, such as Black Gum (Nyssa sylvatica), hickories, and walnuts.
