Goldfinch

Spinus tristis

Description:

Small, light weight, cute bird at my feeder.

Habitat:

My backyard.

Notes:

Goldfinches are often found with other birds. Goldfinches are often found perching on plant stems to eat seeds. Goldfinches only eat seeds. They may accidentally eat an insect on a seed, but they eat seeds. Even their babies are fed seeds, no insects. Goldfinches change color during breeding season.
