Description:

Lanky plant with red, hairy stems. Leaves are lanceolate and green. Pale, pink, flower clusters are produced at the tops of stems. This plant produces seeds that are eaten by a wide variety of wildlife. Considered an invasive and noxious weed in many places. Native.

Habitat:

Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Semi-wooded area bordering a brackish water source.
