Gryllus cayensis
A cricket is a small hopping insect. Crickets vary in length from 3 to 50 mm. They are mostly seen as darker colors, usually black. These insects make the chirping and clicking sound that you here on your typical nights. They have two big eyes that give them great vision and the ability to see in the dark.
Crickets live in almost every environment. They are found in fields and meadows, forests and grasslands, marshes and swamps, trees and bushes, and even caves, beaches, in anthills and underground. Crickets live along roadsides, in gardens and can even live in your house.
I found this cricket in a crack, living in my garage.
