Banded Archerfish

Toxotes jaculatrix

Description:

Archerfish are such cool animals. They're the only fish that I know of that have evolved a projectile attack. They can shoot water at targets above the water and are fast enough to reach that prey within fifty milliseconds.

Habitat:

The banded archerfish inhabits the Indo-Pacific and waters off northern Australia.
