Calostoma rodwayi
These small staked puffballs are very much like Calostoma fuscum but they were only about 20mm tall and their sacs about 10 mm wide. They were partially collapsed but their bright orange stoma were clearly visible.
Spotted on a clay bank amongst moss in a damp fern gully - nature reserve/myrtle beech forest
A gasteroid fungus, commonly called Forest Prettymouth.
