Black backed Jackal

Canis mesomelas

Description:

This Jackal seemed to look like he was on the hunt for a meal to scavenge, there were several other Hyenas in the area and he seemed to be skirting around them to see if there was anything he could steal. They are only very slight in size but are the most aggressive of the Jackal species possibly as most predators here are a lot larger than they are.

Habitat:

Seen in Serengeti national park, Tanzania.
