Jumping Spider with prey

Salticidae

Description:

This is a common jumping spider in my area. It measures about 3/8" long.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 5.5 months into the 6 month rainy season.

Notes:

This one is spotted on Ixora. I believe the prey item is a common house fly.

Hey Carol. I hope I am as well as you are! Thanks! Now that season is over we need to get up to the mountains because the heat is almost unbearable here! Meet us at the Monteverde Cloud Forest!
