Sandhill crane

Antigone canadensis

Description:

Lots of Sandhill cranes were flying into the refuge while I was there. Adults are gray overall with red foreheads and white cheeks. Both sexes are alike.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
