Blue-tailed Bee-eater

Merops philippinus

Description:

The Blue-tailed Bee-eater is "...predominantly green; its face has a narrow blue patch with a black eye stripe, and a yellow and brown throat; the tail is blue and the beak is black...[they also have the distinctive] two elongated central tail feathers. (Wiki)

Habitat:

Sitting on the ground in the grasslands that the Bengal Florican inhabits. The location is not exact as it is quite difficult to pinpoint a location out in the middle of nowhere!

Notes:

We saw quite a lot of these stunning little birds but this is the one and only decent photo I got :D
