Found him on the side of the road, not quite right, he let me pick him up so I took him to the vets and the vet found a baby brown snake in it's throat, so hopefuly that's all that was wrong, and he's just pissed off with me because I cost him his lunch. He went to a carer that afternoon so hopefuly he is released by now :)

Thanks Neil and Muckpuk :) I'm just glad I spotted him/her
Thank you! Well done Rabbit24. I am sure he is laughing somewhere in a tree with a kind human in his heart.
It wasn't my find, Patty, but that's not to say I haven't done my fair share of roadside rescues. This is a beautiful bird, and he found his way to a carer so his chances are better than being left for dead. Rescuers and carers are the salt of the earth, and we need more of them.
What a nice thing to do Neil! I hope the kookaburra is fine and resting somewhere away from snakes...
Oh, so very cute! I love kookaburras; both birds and its name =)
It always pays to keep a towel and a box in the car, just in case. Well done for stopping and rescuing. If only there were more like you :-)
