East African agama Lizard

Agama agama lionotus

Description:

These fairly large lizards were busy catching the suns rays out at Olduvai Gorge, they were also leaping off the rocks trying to catch insects but I wasnt quick enough to catch them doing this as they only seemed to do it sporadically and when my camera wasnt pointing at them! This is either a female or a Juvenile sportings shade of brown, they are sometimes referred to as rainbow lizards due to the bright colours of the male.

Habitat:

Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania
