Wild Flower

Description:

Tiny golden globes of a flower nestled in leaf bracts. About 1 cm diameter. The central flower stamen and pistal grow upwards, but the many small gold petals stay in a ball and never open.

Habitat:

Forest trail, Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Soconusco area of southern Chiapas, Mexico. About 1 hour from Tapachula.
