Common Marmoset

Callithrix Jacchus

Description:

A mating pair of Common Marmosets held separate form the others in a Bromeliaed garden sanctuary. Fantastic idea from the people at the World Of Birds in Cape Town South Africa as we had a great time watching the male and female peel back Bromeliaed leaves for water and insects as they do in the wild. And in the corner of the enclosure were the two babies, Score!!! They are very small monkeys that present with beautiful white tuffs on their ears. With their banded tails and multi coloured fur they are very pleasing on the eye.

Habitat:

The rainforest habitats of South America and in particular Brazil.

Notes:

Captive animal presented at the World Of Birds Enclosure in Hout Bay, Cape Town, South Africa
