Leptophyes punctatissima
A Speckled Bush-Cricket. I believe this is a male. As the name suggests, the green body is covered in tiny black spots, it also has a pale brown stripe down its back. Normally 9-18mm in length. Adult females have a large, upturned, scimitar-shaped appendage at their rear - this is an ovipositor used to deposit eggs.
Found inside the house. Usually found in woodland, hedgerows, scrub and gardens.
We've had two of these inside the house in recent weeks. This was a particularly large one, the body being about 2cm with incredibly long antennae (9-10cm) in relation to the rest. Leg spread a good 4.5cm or so.
