Piranga rubra
Mentioned in the Cornell site as being the only all red male bird in North America. So the description is all red medium sized songbird with a pale medium length bill. Tail and wings are a darker red. Diet is mostly insects especially bees and wasps. But also can be found eating seeds like this one.
This one was found in a grove of Eucalyptus and would come down to the bird feeders in this backyard
