Description:

A common and beautiful plant that has no chlorophyll and does not need sunlight to survive. Instead, this plant gets nutrients from fungus that grows on the roots of certain trees. They are often mistaken for mushrooms due to their odd appearance. It also goes by the names of Ghost Plant or Corpse Plant.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Shenandoah National Park, Virginia.
