Trichoderma peltatum

Trichoderma peltatum

Description:

A peach-colored saprobic fungus with a wrinkly white underside. I have never seen one before, and it is probably one of the most interesting fungi I have ever found. Under one of the many fruiting bodies I found a little beetle living under it (video: https://youtu.be/N9CSDSObP3E)

Habitat:

Chopped oak logs on the Churchhouse Hammock Trail alongside False Turkey Tail (Stereum ostrea)
