Black Bear

Ursus americanus

Description:

Sorry the photos are dark; I took them with a flashlight and my iPhone. This was a female black bear in my backyard in PA. We wondered why she wasn't moving with several of us on the porch. We realized after going inside that she had three cubs up the tree just out of the frame!

Habitat:

Deciduous forest, Northeastern Pennsylvania.

That's awesome! I expect to see some cool bear photos this summer then :)

We have at least one bear spotting every summer for the past few years. Usually always with cubs in tow. They love the bird feeders. My mom has had to replace them almost every year!

Very cool to have a bear in your backyard! I still haven't seen a wild bear, so I'm quite jealous of this
