Staphylea pinata L.

Description:

Staphylea pinnata is a deciduous shrub growing to 4.5 m. It is in flower from May to June, and the seeds ripen from Sep - Nov. Its white flowers are hermaphrodite and are pollinated by flies. On the photo is shown its fruit.

Habitat:

Woodland garden sunny edge; dappled shade; shady edge (like the one on the photo) It is found throughout Central and South Europe.

Notes:

Yellow-brown seeds are edible (said to taste like pistachios).

kako dobro :-) zavidim na tom iskustvu! biljke se ne kreću pa mi bilo lakše doći do njih, a poslije sam se zaljubila u botaniku...

Koje uzbuđenje samo za determinaciju jedne biljčice, ja se ubih sa nekim bubetinama iz pustinje, nikako pa nikako, ali to mi je nekako važnije jer volim doznat da sam imala u ruci nešto opasno, po mogućnosti smrtonosno :D biljčice još ne grizu, pa njih malo olako shvaćam :P
