Rhabdatomis sp.
Yellow and grey moth with red stripes on the thorax, body about 1 cm long. The last picture was taken in the same place on July 13, 2016.
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
Thank you bayucca. Funny little moth. It does look most like R. laudamia because of all the yellow. It doesn't seem to have a widely used common name which is unusual for such a bright moth.
Arctiidae, Lithosiinae, Rhabdatomis sp.. I think it is not possible/serious to get down to species level without the native specimen. There are many identical around. R. laudamia is the most common one, also common is R. cora coroides.
Hi Lauren, similar looking moth. May it can give you a starting place for an ID search. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/186...
