Many-coloured Fruit Dove

Ptilinopus perousii

Description:

The many-coloured fruit dove is a small dove that averages about 9 inches in total length. The females primary color is green with red on her crown and yellow or red on her under-tail. The male is a pale yellow with a red crown and a red strip on his back They feed on berries and fruit high up in trees.

Habitat:

These doves can be found on the islands of Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga. It live in tropical or subtropical forest or in lowland forest where it enjoys the moist climate.
