Haliaeetus leucocephalus
Klamath Basin, Oregon. This Bald Eagle has been nicknamed "Lucy" for her incredibly odd leucistic pattern. We had been looking for her for 3 days. I only saw her seconds before she took off and barley had ant time to grab the camera while shouting to my friend, "Dave! There she is! There she is!" We watched her circle us in the air for an hour, taunting us from afar, and then she flew beyond sight. I think I was lucky to have gotten these shots considering we met a man the first day there who had been looking for her for 3 years and finally saw her the day we talked to him.

Interesting how she is colored.
Yep :) this is the most sought after bird the area. and just kind of famous in Ca if you're a birder.

I think now I remember you mentioning her in the other spotting...with wishful thinking?? ;-) Congrats on finding her!
Thank you Christy and Glen! This is actually an entirely different Bald Eagle than the ones from my other posts :)
